Do we have to go on a guided tour to see the Mystery House? Yes, the only way to see the Mystery House is to go on the 40min guided tour.
Can we go on a private tour? We do not offer private tours unless you have a group of about 26 people which would fill a tour group. If you come in our off season, (April, May, September or October) it is more likely the tours will not be as full.
How long is the tour? – The Mystery House Tour lasts about 30-40min
Do we need to make reservations? – We recommend booking online for groups of 8 or more people. We do allow walk-ins daily but you may have a wait time if you walk-in on a busy day! Reservations allow you to skip the wait-time. If you have a group of over 20 people, you will have to call to make a reservation over the phone.
Is the Mystery House Tour handicap accessible? – The tour is not handicap accessible. It is a mulch path with stairs all the way up. Wheelchairs and strollers are not allowed on the tour path. The giftshop and bathrooms are handicap accessible.
How strenuous is the tour? – The Mystery House Tour is not recommended for people with balance issues. It is a walking tour about 40yards uphill and 40yards back down.
How often do tours run? – During the off-season (April, May, September and October) we run tours about every hour or half-hour. They will vary daily so call ahead to find out how often we are running tours. During the on-season (June, July, August) we will run tours every 10-15min.
What all does Cosmos have to offer? – Our biggest attraction would be the Mystery House Tour but we also offer Geode Mining and Gem Mining as well!
How long should we plan to spend at Cosmos? – The tour lasts about 30-40 min and if you are planning on Geode Mining or Gem Mining you would spend about 1 hour- 1 1/2 hours here!
Are there public restrooms? – Yes!
Do you allow pets on the tour? We allow dogs as long as long as they are friendly, on a leash and behave well on tour. If there is continuous barking, we will have to ask you to leave the tour.
